Denim; a universal symbol that spans continents, history, and classes. While boarding a plane in Miami, I counted 65 passengers wearing jeans. They cross cultures and generations. Denim jeans are a natural sculptural material comprised of rivets, zippers, heavy duty seams and a textile boasting 100’s of shades of indigo.  Jeans for these projects were recycled from the community then transformed in collaboration with schools and retirement homes into motifs for public installations and works of art.
